seasons

The season of Advent

A yearly longing

Child like anticipation of my favourite hymns

A closeness of Spirit

A deepening

Leaning in

Resetting

Picking up with dear

Hope

Joy

Peace

As old friends, that finish my thoughts in conversations

They gather around

 this year

Holding my hand

Whispering truth

As I return

Over and over

In some disbelief

That mother is gone

Cleaning, sorting, throwing away

And finding treasures that soften my soul

My heart’s eye sees

The understanding of her common words

” you are just like your father”

Not that she didn’t

But

She didn’t know how to love me,

So Love comes

After all

To bring  solis this Advent

While Peace, and Hope and Joy,

Join me with tea
